TLM: The Land and The Sea ch7 RW

Chapter 7
A Recipe for Adventure

Quickly Melody and Alex ran through the castle looking for any humans but all they could find were polyps which were quickly put into different bathtubs in different bathrooms. Soon they arrived at the courtyard where Melody gasped in shock as she saw her best friend Prince Robin holding two polyps.

"Robin! What are you doing here?" Melody asked her best friend causing him to sigh sadly. "After we recieved word from Grimsby that you and your parents were coming home today, we decided to come here for a surprise visit but then this strange bubble appeared around the castle causing mother and father to be turned into these strange creatures while I heard this strange melody." Robin explained causing Melody to sigh sadly. "Robin, there are somethings you need to know. First, remember the old tales of King Triton and the merpeople?" Melody told and then asked her friend causing Robin to nod. "I remember but what does your mother's stories have to do with what is going on?" Robin told Melody and then asked her causing the princess to sigh sadly. "King Triton and the merpeople of Atlantica are real. My mom is King Triton's youngest daughter. I don't know how, but somehow my mom was turned into a human which allowed her to walk onto land and marry my dad. I am 1/2 mermaid and Alex who is my cousin is a merman but my grandfather turned him, my aunts, my future uncle and my uncle into humans in order to spend a week on land with us. Now everyone's polyps except for us." Melody told Robin just as Sabastian crawled out of the sea and over to Melody. "Melody, where is your mother? I must speak to her at once." Sabastian asked Melody who sighed sadly as she told the little crab what has happened.

"Oh no, I was too late." Sabastian sighed sadly causing Melody to pick up the now sad and heartbroken crab. "Sabastian, what do you mean?" Melody asked him causing Sabastian to sigh sadly. "Moray Eel, an old enemy of your mother's, came to the king and told him that his children and grandchildren were in danger. King Triton knew not to believe him but he didn't want to take any chances so he sent me up here to warn Ariel and now I'm too late." Sabastian told Melody before he began to cry. "It will be alright, Sabastian. We'll figure out how to turn mom, dad, and everyone back into humans." Melody told the crab as she tried to calm him down as Robin looked determainly at his best friend. "Melody, there is someone who might can help. Her name is Cecila and she's a good witch. If anyone can help us, then it's my old friend but I have no idea where she could be." Robin told Melody, Alex and Sabastian.  "There has to be someone who can help us find her." Melody asked Robin, Alex and Sabastian causing Alex's eyes to widen as he got an idea.

"Melody, my dad's a sea wizard remember? That means so am I. I know of a spell that can show us where Cecila is." Alex told his cousin causing her to grin.

Quickly Melody who held Sabastian, Robin and Alex headed straight to the sea where Alex quickly ran into the sea until he was knee deep in the ocean. The young sea wizard then closed his eyes as he took a deep breath and began to chant.

Alex: Bubbles omgiver mig

Vis mig

Heks af joden

Vis mig

Cecila

As Alex chanted, bubbles began to rise from the sea and then swarm around Alex who smiled as he saw something in the bubbles before they returned back into the water causing the now dripping wet Alex to walk out of the sea and over to his cousin and her friend. "I found her. She's in a small cottage in a forest." Alex explained as he told Robin, Melody and Sabastian exactly what he had seen.

"Cecila must be at her cottage where I first met her. It should only take us a few days to get to her." Robin told them causing Melody and Alex to nod. "I'll let the sea king know. Good luck." Sabastian told them as he hopped out of Melody's hands and then crawled as fast as he could though the sand and into the sea.

After finding some spare clothes for Alex, Melody took Alex to the stables where she quickly saddled her horse Harmony and then quickly saddled Seashell for Alex. "Melody, are you sure these horses are safe?" Alex nervously asked his cousin as Melody helped Alex onto Seashell and then climbed onto her own horse. "I'm certain Alex." Melody told her cousin as they began to ride their horses out of the stables and over to the front of the castle where Robin was waiting ontop of his own horse Halen.

As the trio traveled out of the kingdom, the sun began to set and as the moon rose into the sky, Melody couldn't help but sigh sadly and then began to sing a melody that her mother once sang to her.

Melody: Oh, the waves roll low

And the waves roll high

And so it goes

Under a bright blue

Endless sky

Waves try to measure

The days that we treasure

Wave hello

And wave goodbye

"That was beautiful, Melody. Who taught you that song?" Robin told his friend and then asked her. "My mom did. She used to sing it to me all of the time when I was younger. Mom says that her mom used to sing it when she was just a child." Melody explained as Alex nodded. "Melody's right. According to Aunt Attina, Grandmother Athena used to sing that song every night to Aunt Ariel and her sisters until her death." Alex then explained as Melody smiled and then began to sing another song that her mother taught her.

Melody: My love is higher than the sky

Deeper than the ocean

Warmer than the sun

Shining down on me

Quiet as a prayer

All my love

I will sing

Of joy and glory

I will sing

The look in your eyes

I will sing

Till all the world knows your story

I will sing

For the rest of my life

"That was beautiful, Melody." Robin shyly told Melody who smiled. "Thanks Robin, why don't you sing now." Melody told Robin as Alex agreed with her causing Robin to get nervous knowing that while he had sung in front of others before, he had never sung in front of Melody who he was crushing on.
